Glass reinforced polyester or fibreglass is a thermosetting plastic woven with sheets or fibres of glass and then set in high temperature and pressure moulds or shaped and fixed with strong adhesive.
Although not as strong as steel or carbon fibre, GRP base materials as much less expensive so can be used for many applications and formed into complex shapes from aircraft to boats and especially enclosures.
indEx iGRP enclosures can be made cost effectively, light weight and are highly durable- with good UV, chemical and bacterial resistance- complete with indEx usual rapid delivery, range of sizes, accessories and options. Please see below for details.
We use the carbon loaded (black finish) which means it is antistatic- so suitable for most hazardous area applications as detailed in our “Industries section” and is even low smoke zero halogen (LSOH) for use in areas such as tunnels and ships internal hulls.
